The Striper Swipers are the childrens portion of the MSBA. Led by MSBA member Bob Pizzi, the Striper Swipers hold several fishing outings throughout the year, many of them ending with a cook-out.
Bob is a great teacher and helps the kids learn how to set up their tackle, how to cast and retrieve properly and safely and most of all, insures that everyone has a good time.

Striper Swipers Catching Fish
On Sunday May 23rd Striper Swipers met at Houghton's Pond for a fishing trip and outing.
James, Rose, Eamon, and Declan Flynn and parents James and Julia, David and dad Dave Davis all had a great time on a beautiful day.
Rick Newcomb had donated nice new fresh water rods and reels and tackle and bait for our juniors to have and enjoy fishing with.
Dave Davis taught all the kids and the parents how to rig up for fishing for trout with power bait, how to rig up night crawlers for bass and sun fish. Even mom (Julia Flynn) touched the worms and put them on a hook for the first time in her life.
We had a little competition and a very nice prize for the junior that caught the biggest fish. The prize was a sweet Sunday Rainbow spincasting reel donated by our VP Pam.
Rose Flynn won as she caught the biggest fish, a nice Calico Bass as well as a sunfish. Her little brother caught a sunfish on a worm, the fish was so small I think it was choking on that worm.
There were Chipmonks running around at their feet, people riding horseback in the park, cyclers and walkers and joggers and doggies. Just a splendid day. We cooked out hotdogs and had watermellon, soda, water and chips.
Everyone learned something. Everyone enjoyed fishing and being with the Striper Swipers on a nice day.
Some of the pictures are below.
There are not enough kids showing up at these events. I know everyone is busy, but we like lots of kids at events. The remaining schedule is going to change a little.
Please check the web site and future Spray's in the next few months for the adjusted schedule.
