MSBA anglers had two very successful tourneys over two consecutive weekends.
First they won the Plum Island Surfcasters Invitational again. We just edged out the Plum Island
team by one point, which means that every one can brag that their last fish was the winning fish.
Carl DiRocco won high individual and Doug Ferzoco caught the biggest fish of the tourney with
his very first cast. If we keep winning they may not invite us back.
The next weekend was the Tri-State Cape Cod Leg. MSBA B-Team came in first, Plum Island
Surfcasters took second and MSBA A-Team was third.
Patrick Paquette won High Individual for the first time. Patrick has fished Tri-State for many
years and has come close many times but this time he finally did it. Mark Fulton of Plum Island
took Second High individual and I took third. I was also lucky enough to win the Group Leader
Award, but with the super stars that I had in my group, how could I miss. I fished with long time
Tri-staters Norm Whitten, Steve Mantia, Mike [or is it Pete] Toole, and MSBA's own Jim
'Fuzzy" Swenson.
The winning MSBA B-Team consisted of President Jim Dow, Patrick Paquette, Jim "Fuzzy"
Swenson, Carl DiRocco and Bruce Meyer. The six top point getters were Patrick Paquette,
myself, Carl DiRocco, Bill Prodouz, Leland Perry and Jim Swenson.
The top six anglers for each leg become the A Team for the next leg.
Once again Wendy Bowles put on a great meal on Saturday and provided us with box lunches
the proved to be a life saver about 6am on Saturday morning.
A great time was had not only by those who fished, but also by their family members too.
Next stop Maine!
