Another Great MSBA Meeting in the Books
eXTReMe Tracker
Submitted by Jim Dow, MSBA President
June 24, 2010

First, I need to apologize for rushing out before the start of the meeting last night, I had a family emergency to attend to,
thankfully it turned out to be less serious than anticipated and I was able to return to see the end of Russell Dunn' s speech and
to hear all of Dave Lamoureux's seminar on tuna fishing from a kayak.

I would be remiss if I didn't thank Wendy and Pam for stepping up to fill in for me with no notice and for doing it so well, thank
you ladies, you are the best!!!! We are indeed a lucky club to have members like you  :-)

Having Mr. Dunn speak at our meeting was a tremendous honor for our club and a lot of good questions were asked by our
very knowledgeable fishing crowd.

Having someone like Mr. Dunn as a friend of the club will go a long was in the future to helping us and the entire recreational
fishing community out. As he said, when it comes to reporting on issues, it is just as important to note the things that we like
about the way issues are being dealt with as it is to note the bad things. His comment about how they only hear about the
negative side of the issues was a very good point. Please bare that in mind if you ever fill out any surveys or are asked to
participate in recreational fishing questionnaires.

As always, Dave Lamoureux gave a tremendously entertaining and very informative seminar. After seeing him speak at our
Expo this past year, I thought that it was just as exhilarating to hear his stories told all over again. To see the determination,
preparation and thought that goes into one of his fishing expeditions, was just amazing. He really does have it down to a
science and as he tells it, it is a life and death battle when you are fighting a tuna and he is a master at it!

For those that are unaware, Dave put on that great seminar as a gift to club, he wouldn't take any compensation for his time.
That is testament to the type of person and supporter of our club that he is. Thank you for everything Dave.
