| 2010 MSBA EXPO SEMINAR SCHEDULE “Surf Tent” Saturday, March 6, 2010 10:30am – 11:30 am "No Secrets Required" When 2009 MA Angler of the year Roy Leyva moved within minutes of the Cape Cod Canal, he knew his knowledge of the hottest surf fishing spot in New England was bound to increase. Come learn about how this proven high line angler came to realize the only thing needed to score in the “Ditch” are simple adjustments to average techniques and some good old fashioned hard work. 12:00 Noon – 1:00pm "Wetsuits, Bass, and Boulders: Surfcasting the Outer Edge." DJ Muller, noted author and professional surf casting guide will show the equipment, techniques and give experienced insider tips for those anglers that play on the extreme edge of the surfcasting world. 1:30pm - 2:30pm ”The Art of Surfcasting” The charismatic Zeno Hromin, author of “The Hunt for Big Stripers” and “The Art of Surfcasting with Lures” will present his own personal spin on what he likes to call “Art”. 3:00pm – 4:00pm "Hot Rods & Reels" Ryan White is the owner/operator of the legendary Hatteras Jack Outfitters on North Carolina's Outer Banks and is also an expert casting instructor and professional distance caster. Ryan is a long time friend of MSBA and will present a seminar educating the audience about the cutting edge of Fishing Rod Design & describe the latest techniques used to "trick out" off the shelf fishing reels and turn them into distance casting machines. 4:30pm – 5:30pm "Basic Surfcasting" From Boston & Cape Cod, to the Island of Martha’s Vineyard, all the way to The Cape Hatteras National Seashore; On The Water Magazine’s Travelling Surfcaster & MSBA’s own Captain Patrick Paquette has fished the most famous surf fishing locations along the East Coast. This presentation will focus on the common themes and techniques that many of the most successful anglers from each of these locations have in common.
