Now that we are through with our annual Sport Fishing Expo, I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you
to all of the vendors that took part in the show, all of those people that came out to visit the show and to all of
the club members that came out to help set it up.
A special thank you and a great bit of gratitude must go out to the members of the Expo Committee. As a
part of this committee for the past several years, I know how hard everyone worked to make this show
happen. This years committee was a smaller crew and had to work harder than in past years but did so
without thinking twice about it. I am extremely proud to have been a part of this years committee and I think
that every member of the club should thank them for pulling off one of the best shows this club has ever put
on.
Two people that deserve special recognition for making this happen are the two people that will probably
say it was a team effort and everyone made it happen. But as the President of this club and a member of
this committee, I know that none of this would have been possible without the tireless work of Patrick
Paquette and Pam Kearney. The two of them put in countless hours and went through more stress and
headaches than any two people in history to pull this off! So, on behalf of everyone, thank you Patrick and
Pam. Your hard work and dedication to this event and this club is greatly appreciated. It's members
stepping up like you did that make this such a great club.
I hope that more members see the value that participating in committees can provide each of us and the
club as a whole.
I hope to see a lot of club members at our April 27th membership meeting, there should be a full report
ready to submit to the club on the overall results of the show. I will say that from a personal standpoint and
through discussions with almost all of the vendors and several patrons, the venue was an ideal facility for
this event. Everyone had a great time and the stream of people flowing through the aisles was steady all
weekend long.
Again, thanks to everyone that was involved in the Expo in any form, for any length of time and in whatever
capacity you helped.
