We are looking for active club members to step up and help out with a couple of open committee positions. Join one committee or join five, this is your club and you're encouraged to participate and share your talents with the club.

Open Committee Positions
MSBA 60th Anniversary Committee In calendar year 2010, the MSBA will celebrate it's 60th year as a club. We want to honor the MSBA, the men and women that made this great club what it is and all that it represents to generations of anglers. Help us to come up with ideas on how to perfectly mark this club milestone and historical event.
Sportfishing EXPO The MSBA Annual Sportfishing EXPO is our biggest fundraiser of the year and by far the most exposure that this great club gets. In this uncertain economy, many things will need to fall into place in order to make a show next year possible, profitable and a success. Most of the things cannot be determined or even predicted, the one area that we can definitely make a difference in, is group participation. We are looking for members to step up and join this committee. At times, being a member of the committee can have some pressure, deadlines, telephone calls and personal contact with vendors, but in the end, when you walk around the show, watching the faces of the patrons and vendors alike, you know that it was all worth while. Early in the planning stages, we generally meet once per month, as the time draws closer to the actual show date, meetings get increased to once a week. Although perfect attendance is not absolutely required, contact within the group is, just to pass on updates. As long as everyone is on the same page, we can do anything as a team and as a committee and we can continue this long, rich history of putting on the best possible saltwater fishing shows. There's no limit, as many members that want to help are welcome.
Membership After several years of dedicated service, Wayne's schedule no longer permits him to continue his duties as the Membership Chair. We are looking for someone with good record-keeping and organizational skills, a knowledge in Excel would be a bonus as I believe all the membership records are stored that way. I'm sure that Wayne would spend as much time as necessary and answer as many questions as he can about the position to anyone that is interested in filling it.
Merchandise Similar to Wayne's situation, Cathy just does not have enough hours in her day to do everything that is asked of her. Cathy's position as Merchandise Chair is a very important and detailed job that will need to be filled. Aside from selling MSBA logo merchandise at every meeting and show, she special orders clothing for members, suggests new items and keeps an inventory of the stock on hand.
If you are interested in any of these positions, please send me an e-mail by clicking here
