The Cape Cod leg of the 2008 Tri-State tourney took place on May30th-June 1st with Stripers Unlimited winning the first place spot. Once again they were led by Ron McKee who found and landed many fish, some of which were multi-point fish.
Plum Island Surfcasters placed second, and MSBA B team placed third.
The MSBA B team was led by Ron Paquette who returned to the Tri-State battle with a bang. His 15 point, 36 inch Bass was the biggest fish of the tourney.
Brother Pat landed a 34 inch 15 point fish, and Carl DiRocco caught a 28 inch 10 point fish.
This was more than enough to give the B team third place. Great job guys.
Another great job was done by Wendy Bowles who not only gave us a great cook-out, but provided us, free of charge, a box lunch to keep us going in the wee hours of the tourney on saturday morning. I never thought that I would enjoy a salami, ham, and cheese sub as much as I did at 5:30 am that day.
The cook-out had great chowder, chicken, hot dogs, potato salad, and more. The next leg is in Maine on the second weekend in september. Don't wait too long to make your reservations at the Beau Rivage Motel in Old Orchard Beach.
If you have any questions about Tri-State, see me at the next meeting or e-mail me.
