| FOR OUR TROOPS ON DUTY OVERSEAS Submitted by Mike Glennon As discussed at the last membership meeting and with the number of members indicating an interest, I have contacted the Massachusetts National Guard. My contact indicated that they would welcome the contribution of fishing periodicals to be distributed to our troops in the war zone. The plan at the moment is to have the periodicals, (can be back issues as well as current), collected at our June membership meeting, sort them, then deliver them to the guard in Milford MA, from there the guard will distribute them to various units. AFTER the meeting, the periodicals will have to be sorted, a label attached, then packaged. This process will require bodies. The more periodicals the better, the more bodies willing to give a bit of time for the troops the better. Anyone living within easy driving range of Milford who is willing to deliver the packages will be especially welcome and, though I can't guarantee it, I suspect the club will reimburse gas cost. I would really like this to be a monthly event for as long as our service people are going in harms way BUT I can not and will not do it alone and without a sufficient number of dependable volunteers, this will be a one time event.
